Dbaiba Commends Qatar for Supporting Palestinian Efforts

Davos: The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdul Hamid Al-Dbaiba, met with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, in the Swiss city of Davos. This meeting took place on the sidelines of their participation in the World Economic Forum.

According to Libyan News Agency, the media office of the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity reported that the discussions covered regional and international developments. They also explored issues of common interest between Libya and Qatar, focusing on ways to enhance bilateral cooperation across various fields to strengthen the relationship between the two nations.

Al-Dbaiba commended Qatar’s role, alongside Egypt and the United States, in mediating a ceasefire in Gaza. He appreciated Qatari efforts in alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people. He expressed Libya’s stance against the ongoing Israeli attacks, highlighting that these actions violate international laws and human rights.

The head of the National Unity Government emphasized the importance of increasing international efforts to deter Israeli occupation and hold it accountable for its actions. He called for ensuring that aggression against the Palestinian people does not recur, reaffirming Libya’s support for the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights, particularly the establishment of an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
