Tripoli: Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dabaiba, convened with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Masoud Suleiman, on Monday to discuss the future of Libya’s oil sector.
According to Libyan News Agency, the NOC Chairman provided an overview of the recent public bidding round conducted in Houston, USA. This event attracted significant participation from international companies, indicating a strong global interest and confidence in the Libyan oil industry.
The meeting also focused on the preparations for upcoming bidding rounds scheduled to take place in Istanbul and China. These efforts are aimed at broadening international partnerships and incorporating advanced technology to enhance oil production capabilities.
Further discussions were held on the NOC’s development and operating budget for the year 2025. The talks emphasized the financial requirements needed to improve production efficiency and ensure sustainable operations within the sector.
Prime Minister Dabaiba instructed the NOC to offer a comprehensive disclosure of the financial allocations received through the exceptional budget in previous years. He stressed the importance of using these funds to upgrade oil infrastructure and boost production levels.
The meeting was also attended by key figures, including the Minister of Transport and Financial Advisor to the President, Mohammed Al-Shahoubi, the Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, Walid Al-Lafi, and the Chairman of the Economic Development Board, Mahmoud Al-Futaisi.
