Tripoli: Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdulhamid Dabaiba, emphasized the importance of transitioning to an economy based on investment in human capital rather than spending and consumption.
According to Libyan News Agency, Dabaiba, during his address at the symposium “Banking Investment and its Role in Promoting Economic Development,” outlined the objectives of the Government of National Unity. These include rebuilding the national economy, improving citizens’ income, preserving the oil sector, reforming the financial and banking systems, moving towards monetary discipline, disclosing funding and its sources, and restoring trust between banks, depositors, citizens, and the state.
He explained the necessity of building a balanced economy that restores confidence in the national currency, so that citizens can experience improved price stability and job opportunities. He clarified that economic reform is a shared national responsibility requiring concerted efforts from the government, the Central Bank, and the private sector.
