Tripoli: The independence of the National Oil Corporation (NOC) and its subsidiaries was the focal point of a meeting held between the Corporation’s Chairman, Masoud Suleiman, and Hanna Tetteh, the Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya. The meeting, which took place at the Corporation’s headquarters, was centered on efforts to develop the sector and increase production rates.
According to Libyan News Agency, the discussions included a review of the broad outlines of the Corporation’s plans to enhance the oil sector and expand sustainable development projects around oil sites across Libya. The aim is to boost the sector’s performance while ensuring that political and spatial disputes do not interfere with its operations.
A significant part of the conversation was dedicated to strengthening the independence of the Corporation and its companies. This independence is crucial to ensuring that the Corporation’s distinguished performance remains unhindered, allowing for increased production rates of crude oil and gas. The outcome of these efforts is expected to contribute to greater economic stability for Libyans.
