Central Bank of Libya Reviews Operations and Liquidity Provision Ahead of Eid al-Adha

Tripoli: The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Naji Issa, convened a crucial meeting with several department heads to discuss the bank’s operations and the provision of essential banking services to citizens in preparation for the upcoming Eid al-Adha festivities.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting emphasized the importance of expediting the disbursement of May salaries as soon as they arrive this week. The discussion also focused on coordinating with banks and issuance departments across various regions to ensure the availability of liquidity and the continuation of electronic payment services, thereby facilitating seamless services for citizens during the holiday period.

Additionally, the meeting addressed the need to resume collaborations with international correspondents to fulfill the banks’ foreign currency requirements. This measure aims to secure the necessary credits to support the steady flow of goods into the Libyan market, ensuring market stability.

In a related development, Governor Naji Issa conducted an inspection tour of the Central Bank’s facilities to evaluate the damage sustained by some offices and vehicles, underscoring the commitment to maintaining operational efficiency.
