Tripoli: The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Naji Issa, met with the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Masoud Suleiman, to discuss ongoing cooperation and coordination between the two institutions. The meeting, held on Tuesday at the CBL office in Tripoli, focused on supporting the oil sector, which is the primary source of national income and a fundamental component of the national economy.

According to Libyan News Agency, the discussions included financial arrangements aimed at supporting the CBL’s plans to increase oil production. The meeting also addressed the key challenges hindering the implementation of these expansion plans, particularly regarding the provision of financial resources necessary for increasing oil output.

The Governor emphasized the CBL’s commitment to providing the necessary financial resources through banking and financial institutions. The CBL indicated that this initiative demonstrates the Bank’s dedication to implementing its plans amidst challenging economic and investment conditions and ensuring a regular supply of fuel through the NOC’s accounts at the CBL.
