Boulos Engages in Strategic Talks with Haftar in Benghazi

Benghazi: Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to the United States for Arab and African Affairs, has described his recent meeting with Khalifa Haftar, the Commander of the Libyan National Army, as highly productive.

According to Libyan News Agency, the discussions, which took place in Benghazi, focused on existing security cooperation between the United States and Libya. The talks emphasized joint efforts to enhance border security and confront shared threats facing the region.

Boulos, in a tweet retweeted by the US Embassy in Libya, highlighted the importance of maintaining momentum toward unifying Libyan state institutions. He underscored the necessity of advancing a Libyan-led political process, aimed at supporting lasting peace and preserving Libya's sovereignty.

The advisor noted that this process is intended to create conditions for establishing unified national institutions that serve all citizens of Libya. He expressed appreciation for the public support shown by the General Command of the Libyan National Army for the diplomatic efforts of the United States in the region.
