Tripoli: The spokesman for the Libyan House of Representatives, Abdullah Blihaq, has refuted the authenticity of a document circulating on social media which alleges that the House had extended invitations to several entities, including the High Council of State, for a voting session aimed at selecting a new prime minister on August 25.

According to Libyan News Agency, Blihaq issued a statement on Friday evening labeling the document as “forged” and urged the public to avoid being misled by false news. The purported document suggested that six entities were invited to the session, including the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), the League of Arab States, and the African Union Commission. It also listed seven candidates for the prime minister position.
