The representative of Basra Governorate, Alaa Al-Haidari, criticized the American and British interference in the internal affairs of Iraq.

Al-Haidari said: Both the American Ambassador and the British Foreign Secretary rejected the law approved by the Iraqi Parliament, which bans everything that promotes prostitution and homosexuality.

He explained, ‘Islam is the official religion of the state and is the source of legislation, and it is not permissible to enact a law that conflicts with the constants of the provisions of Islam.’

Al-Haidari stressed: America and Britain will not give orders to the Iraqi people, and it is better for them to be busy with themselves.
