Tobruk: The Anti-Illegal Migration Agency-Tobruk branch announced the arrest of 350 illegal migrants of various nationalities during a large-scale security operation carried out within the Tobruk municipality.
According to Libyan News Agency, the agency revealed through its media office that this security operation was part of a series of intensive patrols. These patrols were specifically aimed at pursuing individuals violating entry requirements and raiding hideouts of illegal migrants within the city and its suburbs.
The agency provided details on the varied legal status of those apprehended. Some of the migrants had entered Libyan territory without completing official procedures, others had infiltrated through desert routes, and several were in the process of preparing to migrate illegally by sea to the European coast.
The agency has affirmed its ongoing security efforts to target smuggling networks and suppress illegal migration activities. These efforts are being coordinated with relevant security authorities, with a strong emphasis on the need to activate regional and international cooperation to address the issue effectively.
