Tripoli: The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Al-Menfi, has received messages of condolence from several Arab leaders following the death of the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Haddad, and his companions in a plane crash near Ankara.
According to Libyan News Agency, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of Qatar, conveyed his condolences, praying for mercy and forgiveness for the deceased and offering patience to their families. The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, expressed his sympathy to the Libyan leadership and people.
Al-Menfi also received messages from Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Chief of the Presidential Court. Both leaders expressed sorrow and prayed for the deceased and their families.
The President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani, sent his condolences, expressing sadness over the loss and offering prayers for the victims' eternal peace. Similarly, President Mahmoud Abbas of the State of Palestine affirmed his solidarity with Libya during this time of grief, extending his condolences to the Libyan people, leadership, army, and victims' families.
