Baghdad: Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani has emphasized the crucial role of international organizations and major countries in addressing the ongoing humanitarian crisis affecting civilians in Gaza. In a recent meeting with the Palestinian Ambassador to Iraq, Ahmed Al-Ruwaidi, Al-Sudani highlighted the urgent need for global intervention to alleviate the suffering in the region. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting between Al-Sudani and Al-Ruwaidi focused on strengthening bilateral relations and assessing the current situation in Palestine. The conflict, described as a "criminal Zionist war," has persisted for over a year and resulted in thousands of casualties, including both martyrs and wounded individuals. During the discussions, Al-Sudani reaffirmed Iraq's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and called on international organizations and major countries to fulfill their responsibilities in mitigating the civilian suffering in Gaza. He assured that Iraq would persist in its efforts to provide relief and humanitarian aid to the affected population in Gaza, underscoring Iraq's commitment to the cause.
