Al-Sayeh meets with members of the (6 + 6) committee concerned with drafting electoral laws.

The President of the High Electoral Commission, Imad Al-Sayeh, met today, Sunday, with a number of members of the (6 + 6) committee concerned with drafting electoral laws related to the thirteenth amendment of the Constitutional Declaration.

Where a number of technical issues related to the drafting of electoral laws based on internationally recognized principles and standards for the implementation of electoral processes were reviewed and discussed, and on the constitutional provisions contained in the Thirteenth Amendment of the Constitutional Declaration.

The discussion also touched on the issue of constituency division and the distribution of seats in the elections of the House of Representatives and the Senate, in addition to exchanging views regarding the issue of electoral appeals and disputes.

During the meeting, it was agreed to continue communication between the Commission and the concerned committee, and to provide technical and legal advice in a way that facilitates the work of the committee and speeds up the issuance of laws to reach the implementation of the electoral map planned for this year.

This meeting comes within the framework of the committee’s contacts with the authorities related to the implementation of electoral laws, led by the Commission.
