Tripoli: President of the Presidential Council, Mohamed Menfi, has emphasized the Council’s commitment to enhancing international cooperation and engaging with international partners under the principles of mutual respect and shared interests. This commitment was underscored during a meeting at the Council’s headquarters in Tripoli with a delegation from the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by Deputy Minister Marcel de Vink. The delegation also included Farima Mowafi, responsible for the Libyan file at the Dutch Foreign Ministry, and Joost Klarenbeek, the Dutch Ambassador to Libya.
According to Libyan News Agency, Menfi acknowledged the positive contributions of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in supporting Libya’s stability. The meeting focused on the robust bilateral relations between Libya and the Netherlands and explored opportunities for further development in various domains, particularly political, economic, and security sectors, to enhance strategic partnerships and mutual interests.
Discussions during the meeting also covered the current situation in Libya, with an emphasis on supporting the political process, promoting stability, and advocating for national dialogue and elections. The talks further addressed human rights issues, transitional justice, and sustainable development cooperation.
