Tripoli: The Head of the Presidential Council and Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army, Mohammed al-Menfi, convened a meeting in Tripoli with members of the Joint Military Commission (5+5) from the western region. According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting focused on reviewing practical procedures and implementation steps in coordination with the General Staff. This initiative aims to advance the project of unifying the military institution and enhance coordination among various military units. The dialogue also covered the results and recommendations from the discussions overseen by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL). The focus was on mechanisms to utilize these outcomes to support efforts for military unification and to strengthen security and stability in the country. Participants underlined the necessity of continuing joint work and intensifying efforts towards military consensus. Such efforts are seen as crucial to supporting the political process and preserving Libya's security a nd unity.
