Tripoli: The Head of the Presidential Council and Chairman of the High Financial Committee, Mohamed Al-Menfi, met with Masoud Suleiman, the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), to discuss the findings of the technical committee responsible for overseeing the NOC’s operational and exceptional expenses.
According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting, which took place at the Council’s headquarters in Tripoli, also focused on evaluating the legal, technical, and financial dimensions of contracts in the oil sector over the past five years. This evaluation aims to ensure procedural integrity, protect state rights, and promote transparency in this crucial sector of the national economy.
During the meeting, Al-Menfi highlighted that the High Financial Committee prioritizes establishing transparency and accountability principles and reinforcing good governance foundations across all state institutions.
The meeting wrapped up with a commitment to ongoing coordination between the High Financial Committee and the NOC, aiming to monitor the implementation of the technical committee’s recommendations and address any challenges that may hinder progress, ultimately serving the nation’s best interests.
