Al-Menfi Adopts National Charter for Reconciliation in Tripoli

Tripoli: The Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Al-Menfi, adopted the National Charter for National Reconciliation today, Wednesday, in the capital, Tripoli. This significant event witnessed the presence of members of the High Council for Peace and National Reconciliation and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited to Libya. According to Libyan News Agency, Al-Menfi emphasized that the charter is the result of a sincere national effort and a collective will. He stressed that Libya's path to stability and progress is anchored in reconciliation, dialogue, tolerance, and prioritizing the national interest. Al-Menfi highlighted that the signing of this charter marks the beginning of a new phase, urging continued diligence and responsibility to implement and realize the charter's principles in the daily lives of citizens. The Presidential Media Office reported that Al-Menfi expressed his support for the High Council for National Reconciliation, established under the Charter for Peace and Reconc iliation. He underscored its crucial role in monitoring and overseeing the implementation of the charter's provisions, ensuring the continuity of the reconciliation process, and achieving the goals of social peace, justice, redress, and trust among citizens. The office also noted that Al-Menfi announced the adoption of the High Council for Peace and National Reconciliation's decision to designate January 7th of each year as the National Day for Peace and Reconciliation.
