Al-Marj Security Directorate Seizes 29 Illegal Migrants on Eastern Coast

Tripoli: Greater Al-Marj Security Directorate, in coordination with the Illegal Migration Control Agency - Coastal Branch, successfully carried out a security operation that resulted in the detention of 29 illegal migrants on the eastern coast. According to Libyan News Agency, the Directorate stated that Talmitah Police Station received a report at 7:00 a.m. about a group of migrants who had arrived on the shore aboard a fishing boat before heading through a valley toward a mountainous area. The situation prompted a swift response from law enforcement agencies. The Directorate further detailed that patrols from the Zawiya Anblou Police Station moved to the location and discovered the boat used in the smuggling operation. The boat contained several life jackets and two 40-horsepower engines, indicating its recent use for transporting the migrants. The detained individuals were found in the mountainous area, adding a complex layer to the operation. Among those detained, 19 were identified as Pakistani natio nals, while the remaining individuals were Bangladeshi nationals. This operation highlights the diverse nationalities involved in illegal migration attempts along the eastern coast. The migrants were subsequently transferred to the Al-Marj Security Directorate to complete the necessary legal procedures. Following this, they will be referred to the Illegal Migration Control Agency for further action in accordance with applicable legislation, ensuring that due process is followed in addressing illegal migration concerns.
