Sirte, The Representative of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, met this afternoon, Tuesday, with the Special Adviser to the Secretary-General of the United Nations on Libyan affairs, Stephanie Williams, who praised the efforts of the Presidential Council for the success of the political process and arrangements for holding the elections.
During the meeting, they reviewed the efforts of the UN mission to resolve the Libyan crisis, the obstacles facing the electoral process and ways to overcome them.
During the meeting, Al-Lafi stressed that the electoral process and the success of the national reconciliation project will directly contribute to bringing Libya to safety.
In turn, “Williams” stressed the need to adhere to the outcomes of the political dialogue, and to hold elections to achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people in building a unified and democratic state, noting the importance of supporting the initiatives of the Joint Military Committee (5 + 5) to ensure the security and stability of the country.
