Al-Lafi and UN Envoy Discuss Steps Toward Resolving Libyan Crisis

Tripoli: Deputy of the Presidential Council Abdullah Al-Lafi recently met with Hanna Tetteh, the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Libya, to discuss the ongoing political process and national reconciliation efforts in Libya. The meeting focused on evaluating the progress made by the Presidential Council in reconciling various factions within the country as part of a broader effort to stabilize Libya.

According to Libyan News Agency, Al-Lafi emphasized the Presidential Council’s commitment to supporting the United Nations mission in its efforts to bridge differences among Libyan parties. He highlighted the importance of the Advisory Committee’s role in fostering dialogue and creating a consensus-driven approach to resolving contentious issues, which is crucial for achieving national stability and consensus.

Tetteh reiterated the United Nations’ dedication to resolving the political crisis and restoring stability and peace in Libya. She emphasized the need for a clearly defined political process that addresses key issues among various parties to ensure the success of Libya’s democratic trajectory.
