Al-Koni Mourns Loss of Libyan Army Leaders in Plane Crash

Tripoli: Presidential Council member Musa al-Koni expressed profound sorrow over the tragic plane crash that claimed the lives of the Chief of Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Mohammed al-Haddad, and several of his companions. The accident occurred as they were returning from Ankara to Tripoli, marking a significant loss for Libya during a challenging period. According to Libyan News Agency, al-Koni released a statement on his official 'X' account to convey his condolences. He remarked on the loss of "leaders and a true military conscience" who embodied the nation's trust amidst hardship. Al-Koni described the deceased as "symbols of hope and the salvation of the nation," whose lives and service were a testament to their dedication to Libyan unity. Musa al-Koni highlighted the commitment of Lieutenant General Mohammed al-Haddad to Libya's unity and restoration. He noted that al-Haddad's actions consistently reflected this dedication, with support from the Chief of Staff of the Ground Forces, Lie utenant General al-Fitouri Ghraibil, who was a staunch ally throughout his military career. Al-Koni concluded by acknowledging that the victims were en route home from a mission focused on Libya. He described their deaths as a profound loss and a testament to their unwavering loyalty. He offered prayers for their souls, hoping they would be granted a place in paradise befitting martyrs.
