Tripoli: The Minister of Economy and Trade in the Government of National Unity, Mohamed Al-Hawij, engaged in discussions with the United Kingdom's Ambassador to Libya, Martin Reynolds, focusing on the enhancement of trade and investment cooperation between Libya and the UK.
According to Libyan News Agency, during the meeting, Al-Hawij emphasized the importance of activating existing agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two nations, particularly in the realms of economy and investment. He urged the British side to encourage companies from the UK to explore opportunities in the Libyan market across various sectors and to form partnerships with local investors.
The discussion also involved Al-Hawij presenting the Ministry's strategic plan to foster local industries and boost trade volumes with international partners. The British Ambassador, Martin Reynolds, expressed the UK's support for the Government of National Unity's initiatives aimed at achieving political, security, and economic stability in Libya.
Reynolds highlighted the readiness of the Commercial Office at the British Embassy to work closely with Libya's Ministry of Economy and Trade. This collaboration aims to improve the business environment in Libya, thereby attracting British investments and fostering long-term partnerships in areas of shared interest.
