Abuja: Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Taher Al-Baour, arrived in Addis Ababa, the Ethiopian capital, to participate in the 49th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union. The session is hosted by the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia at the AU headquarters.
According to Libyan News Agency, Al-Baour and his delegation were warmly welcomed by Mohamed Adam Lino, Libya's Permanent Representative to the African Union, along with several representatives from the Protocol Department of the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Executive Council meeting includes foreign ministers and representatives from member states, focusing on several crucial issues on its agenda.
Key topics for discussion during the council's proceedings include strengthening joint African action, monitoring the implementation of African Union resolutions, and addressing matters related to peace, security, sustainable development, and continental integration.
