Al-Baour Discusses Bilateral Relations with Chinese Embassy Official

Tripoli: The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in charge of the Government of National Unity, Taher Al-Baour, engaged in discussions with Liu Jian, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China to Libya, in Tripoli. The meeting focused on exploring avenues to enhance the friendly relations and cooperation between Libya and China in various fields, with an emphasis on strengthening strategic partnerships that serve the mutual interests of both nations.

According to Libyan News Agency, the discussions also covered the results of the China-Africa Coordination Conference, which Al-Baour recently attended at the foreign ministers’ level. Both parties highlighted the significance of deepening consultation and coordination and intensifying joint efforts to support development initiatives and promote continental integration as part of the partnership with China.

Additionally, the meeting addressed the preparations for the reopening of the Chinese Embassy in Tripoli.
This includes plans for providing consular services to Libyan citizens and residents, a move anticipated to bolster economic, investment, and cultural cooperation between Libya and China.
