Tripoli: The Agricultural Police Department has ramped up its patrols and field visits to monitor forests, reserves, and agricultural areas as part of a broader strategy to enhance preventative measures and boost preparedness against fire risks.
According to Libyan News Agency, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock announced on its official page that the Agricultural Police Department's branch in the four districts conducted an inspection tour on Monday. This tour included visits to the Abu Aisha agricultural project and the surrounding olive groves, as well as the forest strip in the Souq al-Khamis Imsehel area and the Wadi al-Majinin dam forests. The purpose of these visits was to assess the current conditions and bolster preventative strategies.
The Ministry emphasized that these initiatives are in line with directives from the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock in the Government of National Unity. They are also following the instructions of the Acting Head of the Agricultural Police Department, in collaboration with the National Safety Authority. These efforts aim to ensure a swift response to any emergencies and to protect the vital vegetation and agricultural resources in the region.
