49th Conference of General Assembly of Federation of Arab News Agencies in Abu Dhabi launched

Abu Dhabi, 16 November, 2022 (LANA) –The work of the 49th conference of the General Assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies was launched in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi, with the participation of the Libyan News Agency, with a delegation that included the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Abdel Basset Ahmed Abudia and the General Manager, Ibrahim Hadiya Al-Majbri.

The conference, which is held in conjunction with the activities of the World Media Congress in Abu Dhabi, discusses the assembly’s agenda, which includes many items related to the activities and decisions that have been implemented since the 48th meeting held in Riyadh last January.

The Director General of the Emirates News Agency, Mohammed Al-Raisi, stressed in his speech during the opening of the association’s work – which is attended by the directors of the member agencies with the participation of the President of the International Federation of News Agencies, the President of the Association of Mediterranean News Agencies, and a number of international agencies – that the nature of the work that brings together news agencies around the world They are common and the concerns are one, and all of them aim to raise the professional level of workers in news agencies and to convey the truth with all credibility and transparency to peoples all over the world.

In turn, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Lana stressed the role of news agencies in disseminating the truth, and developing their technical work tools and mechanisms and their editorial policies, in line with modern technologies in media and informatics, through which they can confront false news, pointing out that this will only come through their commitment In accordance with the standards of the press, especially impartiality and objectivity, and seeking high accuracy in dealing with events, whether local or international.

In his speech at the opening session of the General Assembly, Abudia stressed the importance of developing cooperation between the news agencies of the Union, and benefiting from mutual experiences.

He pointed out that the main objective of the Emirates News Agency in organizing and managing the activities of the World Media Congress is to highlight the true role of news agencies. In the evolving media scene, and enhances confidence in its professionalism and professionalism in the media and journalistic work.
