38 Irregular Migrants Rescued Off the Coast of Sirte

Sirte: Patrols of the General Administration for Coastal Security rescued 38 irregular migrants after intercepting a boat carrying them north of Sirte, approximately 120 nautical miles off the coast. The Deputy Director of the General Administration for Coastal Security, Brigadier General Abdul Hafeez Al-Qaddafi, stated that the maritime patrols intercepted the boat at sea and rescued those on board before transferring them to Sirte's seaport to provide them with necessary humanitarian assistance.

According to Libyan News Agency, the migrants were of various nationalities, including two Egyptians who were piloting the boat, in addition to 24 Bangladeshi and 12 Pakistani nationals. Brigadier General Al-Qaddafi highlighted that the migrants would be referred to the Anti-Illegal Migration Agency for legal proceedings in accordance with applicable laws.
