Ankara: The Western Coast Military Region has announced the preparation and deployment of a military force across the city of Surman. This move aims to secure the city and protect the local prison, following directives from the Chief of the General Staff of the Libyan Army, Lieutenant General Dr. Salah al-Din al-Namroush.
According to Libyan News Agency, the deployment is part of a broader initiative to implement security measures that enhance stability and protect vital facilities. This includes the withdrawal of all armed formations from within Surman, a strategy intended to consolidate security and enable the return to normalcy in the area.
The Western Coast Military Region emphasized that this step aligns with the ongoing efforts of the General Staff to support security and stability. The goal is to empower legitimate authorities to fulfill their responsibilities, thereby reinforcing state sovereignty and ensuring the security and safety of citizens, as well as public and private properties.
