Media reports stated that "Iran informed the Gulf Cooperation Council countries that it would be unacceptable for the Council countries to allow the use of their airspace against Tehran."
Foreign media quoted a Senior Iranian official as saying that "any such move will require a response," amid fears of a possible Israeli response to the missile attack launched by Iran on Israel last week.
The Senior Iranian official added that "any move by any of these countries against Tehran, whether using airspace or military bases, will be considered by Tehran as an act issued by the entire group, and Tehran will respond accordingly."
The Iranian official continued: "The message stressed the need for regional unity in the face of Israel, and the importance of achieving stability," stressing that "any assistance to Israel, such as allowing the use of the airspace of any country in the region for actions against Iran, is unacceptable."
The official denied that "Tehran discussed with the oil-producing Gulf Cooperation Council countries the issue of increasing production if Iranian production is disrupted during any escalation."
This comes at a time when Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that he will tour Saudi Arabia and the countries of the region to continue consultations on "stopping Israeli crimes," as he put it.
According to the Tasnim Agency, Araghchi's statements came on the sidelines of "Al-Aqsa Flood: The Beginning of Nasrallah" forum.
