US Official: Malta Talks Between Western and Eastern Libyan Officials Were Constructive

Valletta: The US Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs, Massad Boulos, expressed his satisfaction with holding a new meeting with what he described as senior officials from western and eastern Libya on July 6 in the Republic of Malta.

According to Libyan News Agency, in a tweet reposted by the US Embassy in Libya on its X platform Wednesday evening, Boulos said, 'Our goal was to support Libyan efforts aimed at unifying state institutions,' describing the discussions between the Libyan parties as 'constructive.'

The US official added in his tweet: 'A unified Libya will be more stable and prosperous, and a stronger economic and security partner for the rest of the world, including the United States.'
