Tripoli: The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has reiterated its call on all Libyan citizens to actively engage in shaping their political future. The mission emphasized the importance of each individual’s role in supporting the ongoing political processes in the country. This message was conveyed during an open Zoom call organized by UNSMIL last Friday, which saw the participation of 239 Libyans.
According to Libyan News Agency, Tetteh, a representative of the mission, highlighted that “everyone has a role to play in the success of any political process.” She pointed out that the current situation in Libya has persisted for some time, and changing it will require a collective effort. Tetteh stressed that democracy and inclusiveness are not instantaneous events but rather processes that are built and nurtured over time.
Tetteh encouraged Libyans to participate in an online poll and to collaborate with the mission once the roadmap is announced. She underscored the importance of holding leader
s accountable for the roadmap’s implementation. Furthermore, Tetteh emphasized that the mission aims to enhance transparency and foster partnership with citizens by enabling them to express their opinions and suggestions regarding the future of Libya.
