Tripoli: The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has introduced “Ra’idat,” a new training initiative aimed at bolstering the involvement of young Libyan women in political dialogue and decision-making. The programme seeks to cultivate leadership skills among participants, enabling them to contribute effectively to their communities.

According to Libyan News Agency, the year-long “Ra’idat” programme is designed to empower participants by providing a platform to express their opinions and engage actively in public affairs. The initiative is part of UNSMIL’s broader efforts to enhance the role of women in shaping Libya’s future.

The mission has confirmed that “Ra’idat” will offer a safe and supportive environment for young Libyan women. This space is intended to help them build their capabilities and broaden their participation in societal and national affairs, aligning with the United Nations’ commitment to supporting women’s roles in various fields across the country.
