Tripoli: UNSMIL welcomes the HNEC’s publication of the preliminary Voters List of Municipal Council Elections. UNSMIL welcomed the High National Elections Commission’s (HNEC) publication of the preliminary Voters List for the second group of Municipal Council Elections, describing this step as an important step in advancing the ongoing electoral process.
According to Libyan News Agency, in a tweet today, the mission encouraged all registered voters to verify their information online or at polling centers to ensure eligibility ahead of the upcoming municipal elections.
UNSMIL stressed its continued support for the relevant Libyan institutions in their efforts to hold free and inclusive elections that strengthen the democratic process and the principle of popular participation in local governance.
