Tripoli: An internal committee of the unity government has initiated an investigation into the plane crash that resulted in the deaths of several high-ranking officials, including Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Haddad and his companions, working in coordination with Turkish authorities.
According to Libyan News Agency, the committee was formed by a decision of the Minister of Interior of the Government of National Unity, Emad Al-Tarabulsi. The investigation is being led by Major General Mahmoud Al-Ajili, the director of the Criminal Investigation Department. The department announced via an official statement that a specialized team is diligently working on the procedures necessary for repatriating the bodies of the deceased. This includes collecting DNA samples and comparing them with those from their relatives.
The committee's responsibilities involve a thorough investigation of the plane wreckage and uncovering all circumstances surrounding the accident. The aim is to determine the cause of the crash that tragically claimed the lives of Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Mohammed Al-Haddad, Commander of the Ground Forces Lieutenant General Al-Fitouri Ghraibil, Director of Military Manufacturing Brigadier General Mahmoud Jumaa Al-Qatawi, advisor Mohammed Al-Asawi, and photographer Mohammed Omar Ahmed Mahjoub.
The ongoing investigation underscores the importance of collaboration between the unity government and Turkish authorities to reach conclusive findings about the incident.
