Unity Government and UNDP Collaborate on Health Sector Development

Tripoli: The unity government and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) are actively discussing strategies to enhance the health sector, with a particular focus on digital transformation and governance. This collaboration aims to strengthen institutional frameworks and improve service delivery in Libya.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting was convened by the Minister of State for Prime Ministerial and Cabinet Affairs, Mohamed Ben Ghalbon. The discussions involved the Minister of Health, Mohamed Al-Ghouj, and a UNDP delegation that included the Resident Representative in Libya, Sophie Kimkhadze, and the Deputy Resident Representative, Mohamed Saleh. The primary agenda was to explore mechanisms that support the Ministry's digital transformation initiatives and bolster governance structures.

Both parties stressed the significance of establishing a joint working mechanism to streamline cooperation and ensure coordinated efforts. This initiative is expected to sustainably achieve reform and modernization goals within the health sector, contributing to improved performance efficiency and elevated health service standards.
