Tripoli: The United Nations and Qatar have underscored the necessity of enhancing coordination in international efforts to address the challenges hindering the implementation of Libya’s political roadmap. They emphasized the importance of ongoing intra-Libyan dialogue to bridge differences and attain stability, peace, and prosperity for the Libyan populace.

According to Libyan News Agency, this was highlighted during a meeting in Tripoli between Stephanie Khoury, Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Libya, and Khalid Al-Dosari, Ambassador of Qatar to Libya. The discussions focused on the latest developments in Libya.

The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) shared on its official page that the meeting involved an exchange of views on the recent Security Council session held on October 14, the limited progress in implementing the initial steps of the UN-facilitated roadmap, and preparations for the structured dialogue set for next month.

At the meeting’s conclusion, Khoury expressed appreciation for Qatar’s ongoing support of UNSMIL’s efforts, highlighting its significance in moving the political process forward.
