UN Mission: Zenenga listened to the views of an Amazigh delegation on how to hold the elections in 2023.

The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Libya, “Raisedon Zenenga,” met yesterday, Wednesday, with a delegation from the High Council of the Amazighs of Libya.

The mission said on its Twitter page, “During the meeting, Zenenga heard from the Amazigh delegation about their views on how to hold comprehensive elections in Libya.”

According to the mission, the members of the Amazigh High Council expressed their support for the comprehensive approach taken by the Special Representative of the Secretary-General to hold elections in 2023, and stressed the need to grant full rights to the Amazighs and other cultural components, and to address their concerns about providing an equal political ground among all Libyans, they said. .

According to the mission’s post on Twitter, “Zenenga” received proposals from the delegation detailing issues related to the representation of the Amazigh and other components, women’s rights, and the necessary measures to be taken to perpetuate the trend towards equal citizenship that recognizes and accommodates all components of Libyan society.
