UN Advisory Committee Concludes Fifth Meeting on Libya’s Electoral Framework

Tripoli: The Advisory Committee, formed by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), concluded its fifth meeting on Tuesday, which lasted for three days in Tripoli. The discussions focused on contentious issues within the electoral framework as part of efforts to create a conducive environment for holding elections in the country.

According to Libyan News Agency, the UN Mission explained on its official page that the Committee was tasked with reviewing the current electoral framework in Libya. It was also responsible for proposing options to overcome obstacles hindering the effective implementation of elections. The Committee’s work is seen as a crucial step towards addressing the challenges faced in organizing elections in Libya.
