Tripoli: The U.S. Embassy in Libya expressed its gratitude towards the Libyan Navy for its active involvement in the Phoenix Express 24 maritime exercise, which is sponsored by U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) and held in Tunisia.
According to Libyan News Agency, the embassy highlighted that this year’s exercise saw the largest ever presence of the Libyan Navy. The participation included the ships Al Karama and Ibn Ouf, along with over one hundred sailors from both the western and eastern regions of Libya. This significant involvement underscores the importance of the Mediterranean security exercise, which aims to enhance cooperation among North African, European, and U.S. maritime forces.
The U.S. Embassy also reiterated its commitment to expanding engagement with professional military officers from all parts of Libya. It emphasized the ongoing support for the Libyan Navy in bolstering unified maritime security efforts, highlighting the importance of continued collaboration in security operations across the r
egion.
