U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Commends Libya’s Electoral Preparations During Phone Call.

Tripoli: U.S. Chargé d'Affaires to Libya, Jeremy Berndt, expressed his commendation for the High National Electoral Commission's (HNEC) robust technical preparations for the upcoming municipal elections scheduled for November 16. According to Libyan News Agency, this commendation was made during a phone conversation between Berndt and the Chairman of the Commission, Emad Al-Sayeh. The U.S. Embassy tweeted about the discussion, highlighting Berndt's praise for the electoral body's efforts. In the conversation, Berndt emphasized the United States' unwavering support for HNEC's initiatives to facilitate successful municipal elections. These elections are set to empower Libyans across 58 communities in the country's east, west, and south, allowing them to elect their local leaders.
