New York: The U.S. Ambassador to the UN Security Council has urged Libyan authorities to increase their cooperation by providing necessary information and ensuring that individuals with arrest warrants are brought to justice. The call was made in light of ongoing investigations into crimes and violations committed in Libya.
According to Libyan News Agency, the U.S. representative commended the progress made in the investigations and highlighted the importance of initiating at least one trial by the end of 2025. In a speech to the Security Council, the representative condemned the “heinous crimes” committed by the Kaniyat militia and their collaborators, emphasizing the necessity to end impunity. The ambassador stressed that accountability is crucial and urged Libyan authorities to enhance their cooperation efforts to ensure justice is served.
