Tunisian President Reaffirms Libya’s Crisis as a National Matter

Tunis: Tunisian President Kais Saied has reiterated his stance that the resolution of the Libyan crisis must be driven by the will of the Libyan people, emphasizing that it remains a national issue free from external interference.

According to Libyan News Agency, President Saied highlighted Tunisia's consistent position advocating for a Libyan-led solution during his meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aty at the Carthage Palace. Abdel-Aty visited Tunisia to attend the ministerial meeting of the tripartite mechanism of Libya's neighboring countries, held in the capital.

President Saied underscored the importance of respecting Libya's internal dynamics, asserting that Libyans have the necessary competence and capabilities to create solutions that reflect their aspirations for stability and state-building. He expressed Tunisia's willingness to host a comprehensive Libyan conference to allow Libyans to determine their future.

Additionally, President Saied received a written message from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, delivered by the Egyptian foreign minister. The message conveyed greetings and appreciation to Tunisia, reinforcing the strong bilateral relations between the two nations.

President Saied also emphasized the importance of enhancing Tunisian-Egyptian cooperation to address regional challenges, aiming to strengthen Arab national security and regional stability. Furthermore, he reaffirmed Tunisia's support for the Palestinian people's right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
