Tripoli Security Directorate Hosts Dialogue on Capital’s Safety

Tripoli: The Tripoli Security Directorate organized a dialogue session on Wednesday evening titled “Security of the Capital in the Eyes of its People,” as part of its Ramadan season, “Layali Al-Khair 2025,” in the Old City. The session was attended by a select group of the Directorate’s leaders, a number of officers, residents, and intellectuals, to discuss security issues of concern to the capital’s residents.

According to Libyan News Agency, the session addressed various aspects of the security landscape in Tripoli. Key topics included the role of the Tripoli Security Directorate in overseeing the joint security plan to safeguard the capital, the functions of the Directorate’s operations room in managing reports, and the duties of police stations as the fundamental security base. The discussion also focused on regulating traffic, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan. The dialogue highlighted the importance of cooperation between citizens and police officers in security deployments and patrols to ensure enhanced security and stability in the capital.

This session is part of the Ministry of Interior’s broader strategy to strengthen communication with citizens and foster community partnerships in support of public security. The Ministry emphasizes that security is a shared responsibility and aims to promote a culture of security awareness and accountability among citizens.
