The Turkish Minster Of Defense Announces The Surrender Of 2 Leaders Of The (PKK) In Northern Iraq

The Turkish Minister of Defense, Hulusi Akar, announced the surrender of two leaders of the “PKK” organization in northern Iraq.

In a speech he delivered today in the state of Kayseri (in the center of the country), Akar stressed the continuation of the Turkish army’s military operations in northern Iraq and Syria, according to the strategy of eliminating terrorism from its source, pointing to the necessity of destroying the camps, hideouts and shelters of the PKK militants.

He stressed that Turkey respects the borders and territorial integrity of all its neighbors, led by Iraq and Syria, and said: “We informed all of our counterparts.”

He indicated that the Turkish army destroyed the terrorist corridor that was intended to be established in northern Syria, confirming the killing of 37,793 PKK militants since July 24, 2015, the date of the start of the military operations.
