Baghdad - The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Rashid, confirmed today, Wednesday, that climate change has devastating effects that lead to the disappearance of marshes and the deterioration of agricultural lands.
The President of the Republic said in his speech during the Third International Conference (Climate Change: Implications for Security and Development) in Baghdad, “Iraq is one of the countries affected by climate change, and we must work to take measures to reduce the effects of climate change on our country.”
He added, "Iraq suffers from water scarcity and lack of rainfall, and this threatens food security."
This Wednesday morning, the third international conference (Climate Change... Implications for Security and Development) was launched in Baghdad.
