The Presidency of the Republic stressed the importance of continuing with the democratic system and preventing the return of dictatorship. It said in a statement, 'Today, our people are commemorating the anniversary of the July 14 Revolution and the establishment of the republican system in our country to administer government and authorities on democratic foundations, and the constitution has approved this. Thus, the popularly polled constitution expressed the popular position adhering to its republican system.' The statement added, "On this occasion, we stress the importance of moving forward with our democratic system and working to achieve national partnership in managing the state among all segments of the Iraqi people without discrimination or exclusion, and active participation in the political process in a way that strengthens the will of the people, prevents the return of dictatorship and exclusivity in decision-making, and achieves their aspirations to build a free, dignified and advanced state, c onsolidating its democratic experience and consolidating the freedoms, security and well-being of citizens.
