Jeddah, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation OIC, Hussein_Ibrahim Taha, has affirmed the organization’s position in support of Libya’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and safety of its people.
The announcement was made at a meeting the OIC Secretary General had with Libya’s permanent representative to the organisation Ambassador Kamal Bashir Dahan on Thursday.
In a tweet on the organization’s SMS page, it was reported that (based on the Charter and principles of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, summit resolutions and the Council of Ministers, the Secretary-General reiterated the organization’s support for all initiatives and efforts that contribute to resolving the Libyan crisis politically, to ensure restoration of security and stability in Libya, preserve its territorial integrity and achieve the aspirations of the Libyan people.
The OIC reaffirmed its support for the United Nations efforts aimed at achieving comprehensive national reconciliation and a political solution to the situation in Libya, He called on all Libyan parties to do their utmost and stick to dialogue to overcome the difficulties of the current phase.
