The House of Representatives participates in global discussions on peacebuilding.


Tripoli: Member of the House of Representatives, Youssef Al-Fakhri, participated in a dialogue session organized by the Regional Service Center for Africa of the United Nations Development Program, to evaluate peacebuilding efforts for the year 2025.

The discussion focused on several main axes, including prevention and peacebuilding, by emphasizing the importance of conflict prevention as one of the most important pillars of sustainable peacebuilding, and the role of the Peacebuilding Commission in this regard, while highlighting the relationship between peacebuilding and sustainable development, and how to achieve integration between efforts made in these two areas to achieve sustainable results.

The participants discussed the role of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals in supporting peacebuilding efforts, and how these goals can contribute to achieving more just and sustainable societies. They also discussed the impact of United Nations reforms on the effectiveness of peacekeeping missions, especially
in transitional situations, and how these reforms can contribute to strengthening the role of the United Nations in peacebuilding.

It is noteworthy that the session aims to improve the work of the United Nations in the field of peacebuilding, and to focus on supporting national and regional efforts to prevent conflicts and resolve disputes through peaceful means. Representatives of the African Union Commission and regional organizations also participated in it, in addition to a number of experts in the field of peacebuilding.
