Baghdad: European Union Foreign Policy Commissioner Josep Borrell considered: ‘The possibility of a full-fledged conflict with the Lebanese Hezbollah has become a ‘realistic matter’ that will have a serious impact on the region and beyond.’

Borrell wrote in his account on the ‘X’ platform about the situation in the region: ‘(Last) Saturday was one of the bloodiest days since last October, as reports indicated that at least 100 Palestinians were killed’

Borrell’s statements come amid an escalation in the tone of the approaching broad Israeli military confrontation on the northern border with Hezbollah.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant arrived in Washington to meet with officials in the American administration, and at the top of his agenda: the third phase of the Israeli military operation in Gaza and the situation on the front with Hezbollah.

Before his travel, Gallant told the Israeli media that his country was “prepared for any military operation.”

On the other hand, US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs
of Staff Charles Brown suggested that his country may not be able to help Israel if it engages in a large-scale war with the Lebanese Hezbollah, in order to preserve American forces in the region.
