Tripoli: Head of the High Council of State, Mohamed Takala, engaged in a discussion with Stephanie Khoury, Deputy Special Representative for Political Affairs of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, regarding the UN roadmap aimed at resolving the political crisis in Libya.

According to Libyan News Agency, the meeting, held on Sunday in Tripoli, focused on reviewing the UN roadmap presented by UN envoy Hanna Tetteh to the UN Security Council. This roadmap seeks to break the political deadlock, support national dialogue, and unify state institutions in Libya.

Additionally, the discussions covered the status of the High National Elections Commission. This sovereign position, as determined by the Political Agreement, plays a crucial role in facilitating parliamentary and presidential elections without legal or constitutional impediments. The meeting also addressed strategies to resolve contentious issues related to the electoral laws.
